At Hellys Angels, I aim to provide outstanding quality care and education for children aged 0 to 5 years old. I strive to ensure that every child who comes into my care, has the best possible start in their learning and provide them with a warm, caring and nurturing environment where they can have outstanding experiences, and develop in all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum.
Choosing a childminder means a smaller setting which allows for a more one-to-one approach, getting to know each individual child and their needs. I can provide flexibility and continuity of care, allowing for your child’s routine as near as possible to be a replication of that at home.
At Hellys Angels I can provide a secure, family feel where parents and/or carers can feel relaxed and confident in their knowledge that their child is being cared for by an experienced and dedicated professional in a safe and happy environment.

A Typical Week at Hellys Angels
Your child will enjoy a varied week of both adult-led and child-initiated play, outings and activities, all based around a loose monthly theme. Home routines are incorporated into each day as far as possible and individual needs are respected. I attend at least one toddler / childminder drop-in session, work in co-operation with local children’s centres, have annual passes at a number of local attractions and place a high value on active learning.
Arts & Crafts Activities
Making New Friends
Children’s open ended creativity is encouraged by way of providing plenty of art and craft opportunities and a variety of well planned activities which will include a focused activity based around the monthly theme. For example, children may make lanterns to celebrate Chinese New Year, enjoy tree bark rubbing when we are thinking about patterns in the environment or plant seeds to take home and care for in the spring.
Getting out and about in the fresh air is important. We often make use of our local woods and I encourage you to provide suitable clothing for your child so they can fully participate in outdoor events in all weathers.
I aim to meet up regularly with other childminders and their children, so our own little angels have the opportunity to mix and socialise with other children. Children will be able to learn and develop the skills necessary to manage personal feelings, understand others’ feelings and needs, and interact in a respectful and acceptable way.
Music & Movement Activities
Cooking & Baking
I have a passion for dance and performing arts, having taught it for many years. Children love to sing, dance and role play and there will be ample opportunities for your little ones to develop their performance skills in various situations e.g. music classes, and/or music and movement activities linked to monthly themes.
Children love books. At Hellys Angels we have a wide collection of books of varying levels and abilities. Children will be read to daily, and they will also have the opportunity to visit the local library to look at, and select their own book to be taken home to share and read together with their parents and/or carers.
Healthy eating and making healthy food choices are encouraged through the nutritious meals and snacks that we can provide, but also through the opportunities for the children to cook for themselves. Children will begin to learn about where food comes, food from different cultures, as well as the importance of good, nutritious food for health and well-being.
Play and Learning
Getting Out & About
Your child will learn through play. I will learn about your child’s interests by getting to know them and by listening to you, the person who knows them best. This will enable me to plan engaging activities with the support of the Development Matters. This is a non-statutory document that provides excellent guidance in helping Early Years practitioners to ‘understand and support each individual child’s development pathway.’
Your child will be encouraged to take part in some focused activities, as well as having plenty of opportunities for free play. Your child will spend lots of time outdoors, exploring the garden and local community. A wide variety of games and resources will be available, always led by your child’s interests and they will be connected to the 7 Areas of Learning. You can learn more about these Prime and Specific Areas in the EYFS section.
We have a wealth of local attractions on our doorstep that provide invaluable opportunities for your little one to explore, learn and develop. Such attractions as local farms, animal sanctuaries, museums, places of historical interest etc. teach children about their local community, history and culture.
I hold passes for some local attractions, however some which we will visit from time to time, to support a learning theme will incur some contributory cost (please see Fees & Costs section)
At Hellys Angels. there will be routine and consistency but every day will be a new adventure! As much as possible, the days will be designed around your family and tailored to suit your child’s individual needs.
